Jerry W. Hyatt
Jerry received his B.A. from Hampden Sydney College in 1997 and graduated from the University of Baltimore School of law in 2000. After completing his judicial clerkship with the Honorable Paul A. McGuckian of the Circuit Court for Montgomery County, Jerry accepted an associate position with the law firm of Miles & Stockbridge, P.C. While at Miles & Stockbridge, P.C., Jerry has handled and managed several complex civil litigation cases involving all types of matters. In 2005, he established his own law practice then became a partner at Clifford Debelius from 2007 until 2019 practicing general litigation. In 2020, he opened his own law firm in Rockville, Maryland.
Jerry practices primarily in the areas of family law, business litigation, personal injury and criminal defense. In his extensive litigation background, Jerry has handled several types of cases, including high asset divorce cases, complex custody and support cases, business and construction disputes, criminal misdemeanors and has obtained litigated and recovered millions in compensation for personal injury and wrongful death clients.
Jerry was born and raised primarily in Montgomery County, Maryland. His family has been residents of Montgomery County for generations, with his father serving as a Judge for the District Court and Circuit Court for Montgomery County. Jerry is active on numerous committees and youth sports associations and spends time away from the practice of law with his wife and children.

We had an issue with a contractor who was performing work at our home, including the construction of an addition. We ran into several problems with the contractor, who had grown very hostile, and no work was being performed at my house. Jerry was able to deal with the situation with the attorney for the contractor so that the situation resolved and the project was finished by another contractor. Jerry’s knowledge of contract law is first rate and I am grateful for his assistance in this matter. I highly recommend Jerry to anyone who needs legal assistance.
I had a payment issue with a tenant at one of my properties. Jerry moved quickly to eject the tenant from my property so I could prepare the property for future rental. He also was able to garner a judgment against the tenant for damage done to the property. I highly valued Jerry’s skill and advice.
